<p class="MsoNormal">The Discovery Services Librarian oversees the maintenance, development and customization of the Library’s search tools through usability testing, extraction and analysis of statistics, and integration of the discovery system with other
Library and University online resource applications.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Plans ongoing development, user testing and analysis of the Library’s resource discovery systems in a methodical, organized, phased approach.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Responsible for the design, coordination and support of statistical reports needed for assessing services and resources.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-With the Head of Technical Services, plans, promotes and executes the seamless integration of Library information resources and services into online teaching and research tools via web programming, administration of the Library’s discovery
service and other Library applications.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Works collaboratively with Library and University staff and faculty in a variety of units to develop tools and workflows for improving access to the Library’s collections.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Develops applications that promote integration of Library content and services within the course management system.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Develops custom solutions and designs for Library applications.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Documents application development, decisions and workflows.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Trains staff on use and enhanced functionality of discovery systems.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">-Demonstrates practical knowledge of library acquisitions and metadata workflows in a largely electronic environment including authority control, metadata schemes, taxonomies, database management and the electronic resource lifecycle.<o:p></o:p></p>
