<div class="">Have your EBSCO search statistics stayed consistent? We’ve seen those drop as well. At first I assumed that people were using our WorldCat discovery platform but in reality our searches in many EBSCO databases actually went up in 2013 (sometimes
only by a few hundred searches, other times by nearly a thousand) after we put the WorldCat search box on our website in the summer of 2012 (I compared 2012 and 2013 COUNTER search reports). </div>

<div class="">I decided to look a little deeper now and here’s what I’m noticing:</div>

<div class="">I compared our 2013 DB1 reports in COUNTER versions 3 and 4. Version 4 stats were often down by a couple hundred searches for the same period. </div>

<div class="">I compared 2013 and 2014 DB1 COUNTER version 4 reports and that’s where I noticed *significant* drops in the searches. Many of our EBSCO databases got half the searches in 2014 that they got in 2013. And this is comparing data from the same version
4 of the COUNTER reports. This would seem to indicate that the problem isn’t related to the change in COUNTER versions…</div>

I’ve definitely noticed a significant drop in usage statistics for our EBSCO databases but I haven’t thought to attribute this to the change in COUNTER versions. EBSCO Support looked into it and said that everything looks fine on their end. So perhaps the change
