ALA Core journals - Information Technology and Libraries, Library Leadership & Management, and Library Resources & Technical Services - are seeking new peer reviewers. These journals provide a trusted platform through which scholars, students, educators, practitioners, and professionals in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) and information science communities exchange knowledge, ideas, and expertise that drives innovation and excellence in technology implementation in these domains.

We welcome applications from individuals at libraries of all types, levels of experience, locations, perspectives, and voices at the intersection of libraries and information technology. Please note the following areas of need:

  * ITAL is particularly interested in reviewers with interest and experience in artificial intelligence or digital accessibility, but welcomes all reviewers with experience in any area of ITAL's publishing scope.<https://ital.corejournals.org/index.php/ital/about/submissions#authorGuidelines>
  * LRTS is particularly interested in reviewers that have expertise in change management theory and practice, but welcomes all reviewers with experience in any area of LRTS's publishing scope<https://journals.ala.org/index.php/lrts/about/editorialPolicies#focusAndScope>.
  * LL&M is interested in reviewers that have prior experience with leadership and management topics across a wide variety of areas and levels and welcomes all reviewers with experience/expertise in LL&M's publishing scope<https://llm.corejournals.org/llm/index>.

Becoming a peer reviewer is a good way to contribute to the profession and expand on your experience. Reviewers should expect to review 2-4 articles a year and should provide thoughtful and actionable comments to authors and the editor. Training on processes and the Open Journal System platform is part of the onboarding process.

If you are interested in becoming a reviewer, please let us know via our brief reviewer application form <https://forms.gle/NrLg5Wdu5Wyy1w7TA> (https://forms.gle/NrLg5Wdu5Wyy1w7TA). The form should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Please submit this form by April 15, 2026.

For questions, please contact:

  * ITAL: Ken Varnum (varnum at umich.edu<mailto:varnum at umich.edu>) or Joanna DiPasquale (dipasquj at union.edu<mailto:dipasquj at union.edu>)

  * LRTS: Rachel Scott (rescott at illinois.edu<mailto:rescott at illinois.edu>) or Michael Fernandez (fernm at bu.edu<mailto:fernm at bu.edu>)
