The University Libraries form an intellectual nexus for George Mason University. We foster innovation, creativity, and imagination by facilitating access to scholarship and information, providing expert consultation in the research process, and actively teaching the effective and critical use of information. Moreover, we fulfill a critical role in the creation, dissemination, and preservation of knowledge.
George Mason is currently the largest and most diverse university in Virginia, with students and faculty from all 50 states and over 135 countries studying in over 200-degree programs at campuses in Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William, as well as at learning locations across the commonwealth. Fenwick Library, centrally located on the Fairfax campus, serves as the main research library, housing most of the University Libraries' 1.5 million volumes. It is a dynamic hub offering research services, innovative learning spaces, cutting-edge digital technology, and abundant resources for the George Mason community.
Salary is commensurate with professional experience, academic qualifications, and is dependent upon rank (12-month professional faculty appointment with rank):
Librarian I (not less than $65,000)
Librarian II (not less than $70,000)
Librarian III (not less than $75,000)
Librarian IV (not less than $80,000)
