[Eril-l] New Enhancements to the ESAC Registry — Supporting the Next Phase of Open Publishing Agreements

The OA2020 and ESAC communities announce new enhancements to the ESAC Registry<https://esac-initiative.org/about/transformative-agreements/agreement-registry/>, a shared, library-driven resource documenting open access publishing agreements between libraries, consortia, and publishers worldwide.

The updated Registry now captures a broader range of open access publishing agreements and introduces enhanced navigation tools and new fields that enable richer entries, reflecting advancing practices in workflows, OA publishing provisions, and author rights. Developed by the OA2020 Working Group on ESAC Resources Update and Development<https://oa2020.org/working-groups/#ESACresources> and shaped through community consultation, these enhancements mark the Registry’s evolution alongside a maturing open access landscape.

Since 2019, more than 1,500 agreements from over 70 countries have been registered, reflecting how coordinated, library-led action has driven market evolution and expanded opportunities for authors to publish openly.
