Dear Colleagues,

We are conducting a follow-up online survey
<https://berkeley.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8J0PHcigD9wKuAS> to learn what
social media platforms librarians are using for professional development or
professional networking in library work. We conducted a similar survey one
year ago, and we are interested to learn how librarians’ social media use
for professional development and/or networking has evolved since then.

Please share your past and present experiences with social media platforms
for professional development and/or networking, even if you no longer are
active on social media. Thank you if you responded last year! We presented
the initial results in a poster
<https://scholarworks.calstate.edu/concern/presentations/4f16cc60k> at the
ACRL conference in April 2025. We’d love to hear from everyone, whether or
not you responded last year (prior and current responses are anonymous and
cannot be linked to any previous responses).

The survey <https://berkeley.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8J0PHcigD9wKuAS>
will close on March 20, 2026. We would like a broad response of library
folks to this survey, so please share the survey with your library
professional networks.

The survey <https://berkeley.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8J0PHcigD9wKuAS>
should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We plan to share the
results in a presentation and/or future publication to let people know
where to connect with other librarians when there are so many diffuse
options.

Thank you sincerely for your time and consideration,

Margot Hanson, Science Instruction Librarian, UC Berkeley

Lee Adams, E-Resources Librarian, Cal State East Bay

*Cal State University East Bay recognizes that it is located on the
ethnohistoric territory of the Jalquin (hal-keen) / Yrgin (eer-gen), the
ancestral and unceded land of the East Bay Chochenyo Ohlone speaking
people, the successors of the sovereign Verona Band of Alameda County. This
land was and continues to be of great importance to the East Bay Ohlone
Tribes and their familial descendants, as well as for the Bay Miwok, and
Delta Yokut people. We recognize that every member of the CSUEB community
has, and continues to benefit from, the use and occupation of this land,
since the institution’s founding in 1957. Consistent with our values of
community, inclusion, and diversity, we have a responsibility to
acknowledge and make visible the university’s relationship to the East Bay
Ohlone people and their unbroken relationship with this land.*
