Hi,
We’ve been using EZproxy for about 25 years. We are currently using the OCLC hosted product, though we used to run it locally until about 13 years ago. We’ve been a WMS library for the last 11 years, and prior to that we were an Innovative Interfaces library for 25 years.
Our Electronic Resources and Metadata Librarian, Daniel Fitzroy, and I did deep dive into available authentication methods a little over four years ago. We’ve been monitoring it closely since. We have no plans to move away from Hosted EZproxy. And we recently started a subscription to their Analytics product.
I am a member of our intercollegiate Identity and Access Management Information Technology Operation Committee. In the Library we take advantage of EZproxy’s Groups directive to limit access to certain resources. We’re hoping to release more authentication attributes from our new Entra central tenant so that we may more finely identify usage by user type. This would also allow us to utilize the Groups directive to better adhere to our license agreements concerning alumni access.
We’re looking to eventually turn off IP access, except for the proxy server of course. We need to push as much of the use as possible through the proxy server.

Subject: Re: [Eril-l] Authentication
HI,
We use OCLC's EZProxy Hosted and it is 100% better than what we were using (WAM from Innovative Interfaces).
They have been very helpful troubleshooting things when we have had issues and are quick to add new databases.
The only thing is apparently some vendors are moving away from ip authentication, so far that hasn't happened for any of ours, Statista is one product that I've heard of that no longer works with EProxy.

Hello,
I work at the State Library of Kansas. We are investigating authentication methods. Would you please, let me know what you are using and what you like/dislike about those authentication methods and vendors.
