[Eril-l] Sage's Critical Thinking Challenge

In an era of misinformation, algorithm-curated news, and viral AI-generated media, critical thinking has become increasingly important.

Sage's 2026 Critical Thinking Challenge spotlights creative, practical approaches to strengthening critical thinking in higher education. We asked professors, researchers, and academic librarians to submit their ideas for strengthening how critical thinking is taught in higher education.

We received nearly 200 submissions from 36 countries across six continents. Judges scored each submission from a list of criteria and we will be posting the top eight throughout April.

Second and third place submissions will receive $500 each, while the first-place winner will receive $2,000 to be used for research projects or library needs.
