Re-posting this job opportunity at Butler University, as we have extended the application review timeline. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with first-round interviews being held the week of November 17th.

I would be glad to answer any questions about the position, Butler, or Indianapolis!

Butler University Libraries invites applications for Head of Resource & Systems Strategies, a 12-month continuing appointment faculty position that provides leadership and vision for the areas of collections, systems, and scholarly communication within the Libraries, and for the six library faculty and staff working in these areas. The successful candidate will coordinate planning and operations across acquisitions, interlibrary loan, electronic resources, and scholarly communication, in support of curriculum and scholarship across the university. Key responsibilities include budget management, management of licenses and physical collections, oversight of library systems and technology, and the shaping of a forward-thinking, people-centered strategy for collection development and access. As a library faculty member, the position also has liaison responsibilities: to provide library instruction, collection development, and research support for a selected college or department(s).

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and will continue until the position is filled. We anticipate holding first round Zoom interviews the week of November 17th. The earliest anticipated start date is January 2026.
