**Apologies for cross posting**

The NISO Plus Baltimore conference
<https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2026-baltimore/> (February 16–18) is the place
to start a conversation about challenges in scholarly communications!
There’s still time to help us set the agenda by submitting your idea(s),
but hurry! The call for proposals <https://forms.gle/AMaLAXh57UazA7Ju5> is
open through this Friday, October 17.

NISO Plus Baltimore offers a unique opportunity to meet and collaborate
with information professionals across the community to address the most
pressing issues in scholarly communications. Each session will include time
dedicated to q&a and discussion, and as with all NISO Plus events, ideas
emerging from the meeting will help to shape conversations about future
NISO standards and projects. Broad topics of interest include (but aren't
limited to) the following:

   -

   AI and emerging technologies
   -

   Archiving and preservation
   -

   Global issues
   -

   Metadata and persistent identifiers
   -

   Metrics
   -

   Multilingualism in scholarly communication
   -

   Open scholarship and open access
   -

   Identity, access, and privacy
   -

   Peer review
   -

   Research infrastructure
   -

   Research integrity and ethics
   -

   Sustainability

We encourage session proposals from professionals across the information
community—librarians, publishers, service and tech providers, researchers,
and others. The most successful proposals will encourage interactivity and
audience participation; we also strongly encourage proposals that reflect
a variety of perspectives—geographical, organizational, functional, etc.
(To that end, we recommend that you include either confirmed speakers or
examples of who you might invite.)

After the call closes on October 17, proposals will be anonymized and then
reviewed by the NISO Plus 2025–26 Planning Committee. We will notify
everyone submitting a proposal of the committee's decision by the first
week of November. In the meantime, we look forward to hearing from you
<https://forms.gle/5HqBW5KecfiipnV57>!

Best wishes,

The NISO Team
