I am very happy to announce that an open source COUNTER 5.1 report harvester is now available with a GUI frontend.
https://github.com/Melissa-Belvadi-Library-Projects/C5.1_Harvester/tree/main
This collects all of the tsv files from all of your COUNTER 5.1-compliant vendors for you.

Last May I released 1.0 of this, with a command-line interface. With the help of an amazing UPEI computer science student, Daniel Odoom, it now has a very friendly graphical interface.

This is written entirely in Python. That means on the one hand that it is totally compatible with all versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux.
On the other hand, it also means you will need to have Python 3 and some related packages installed. That is all free/open source.
This is all explained in the installation docs<https://github.com/Melissa-Belvadi-Library-Projects/C5.1_Harvester/blob/main/docs/contents.md>.

Because running it means you have the actual source code (python is "interpreted", not "compiled"), anyone with security concerns can read every line of the code to see there are no security issues.

And we've written it so that every file related to the harvester is all within on folder tree that you choose to make (aside from Python itself) - nothing written to your Windows registry or such.

I will be giving a presentation about it in the virtual part of the Charleston Conference on November 17, for those "attending" that.

Aside from "harvesting" all of the tsv reports for you, it also builds an sqlite database with all of the data, which give you tremendous power to analyze your data across years and vendors. I have several documentation pages about that too, written with librarians, not sql programmers, in mind.

I am happy to answer questions about the installation process as well as its use and features, and offer videoconf training for individuals or groups.
