This is interesting! My first thought was that it could be related to publicity rights, and it does seem (from a cursory Google) as though California has publicity right laws in place, so after his death the family may have inherited those rights and chosen to exercise them. It does raise questions about the original licensing terms for the videos, but if the license did not explicitly extend past the death of the subject, I can see how this situation might come about.

See below. I am a bit concerned about the idea that vendors should remove content relating to specific people when they die if the families ask.  This specific example is complicated by the fact that these are videos that include the actual image of the deceased, not just texts written by them.  But I still find the concept disturbing and wanted to get your thoughts on it.
