Transfer <https://niso.org/events/2025/04/opentelecon-transfer>
Monday, April 7, 12:00–1:00 pm EDT (US/Canada)
The Transfer Code of Practice is a voluntary code of conduct and best
practices for journal publishers transferring content to and from one
another. It seeks to address the technical and communication issues that
arise during these transactions, with a goal of eradicating any disruption
of access to journal content by end users. Support tools developed by the
Transfer Standing Committee and other supporters include several services
to notify librarians and other interested parties of journal moves.
Transfer was initially created by the UKSG in 2007 and moved to NISO in
2014.
The draft of the latest revision to the Transfer Code of Practice, version
5.0, is currently available and open for public comment on the committee's
webpage <https://niso.org/standards-committees/transfer>. In this Open
Teleconference, Transfer Standing Committee co-chairs will discuss the
latest revisions, which include changes to clarify best practices for the
transfer of open access content.
Speakers: Sophia Anderton, Chief Executive, BJU International, and Émilie
LaVallée Funston, Contracts and Publications Licences Officer, University
of Stirling.
Registration is not required for open teleconferences. See our event page
<https://niso.org/events/2025/04/opentelecon-transfer> for dial-in
information.
