The NISO Plus Planning Committee
<https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2025-2026-planning-committee/> is hard at work
preparing for our September virtual event! Many thanks to all those who
submitted proposals (it was difficult to choose among so many good ones!).
We are pleased to invite you now to take a look at our preliminary program
<https://niso.plus/2025/07/take-a-sneak-peek-at-the-preliminary-program-for-niso-plus-2025-global-online/>
.
This year, NISO Plus Global/Online
<https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2025-global-online/> features sessions on a
wide range of trends and challenges in the information community, including
the ethical use of rapidly evolving AI technology, advancing open research
and research integrity, changing accessibility regulations, and new ways to
think about and manage metadata. In the NISO Plus tradition, each session
incorporates interactivity and conversation, allowing presenters and
attendees to propose potential solutions. It's a unique opportunity to
speak to and learn from colleagues across scholarly communications, and
we're looking forward to hearing your ideas, especially as we begin our
work on advancing standards for AI interoperability

in publishing.
We're also excited about the keynote speakers headlining the NISO Plus
Global/Online program this year: Dr. Mark Aldridge
<https://niso.plus/2025/06/dr-mark-aldridge-to-deliver-opening-keynote-at-niso-plus-global-online/>,
Southampton Solent University, on his experience developing the AI-enhanced
BBC Maestro mystery-writing course, and Nancy S. Kirkpatrick
<https://niso.plus/2025/07/nancy-s-kirkpatrick-is-our-2025-niso-plus-global-online-closing-keynote-speaker/>,
incoming dean of libraries at Smith College, on what leadership looks like
in the context of current challenges in scholarly communication.
Thanks to our generous sponsors (Cadmore Media <http://cadmoremedia.com/>,

have been lowered for NISO members: only $130 per individual if you
register by the August 15 deadline, and $100 per individual for member
groups of five or more. As always, we also offer special rates to those
living in LMIC countries. (If your organization would like to join in
supporting our event, see our sponsor page for more information!)
Our conference platform site, which will include complete information on
sessions and speakers, will go soon, but in the meantime, you can check
this page for updates. Just remember to register by August 15
