[Eril-l] [External] EBSCO New UI

We migrated last August. It should be noted that occasionally EBSCO makes a UI change that is NOT in the Roadmap and does it without warning.
Our people who create our tutorials had to keep redoing parts as those changes were discovered.

I strongly recommend having a test profile in NewUI that you can try out optional new features in before going live.
EBSCO has been mostly good about significant new features being opt-in, but definitely keep an eye on the Roadmap for things you might want to opt out of before patrons notice it.

Hi Denis,

I've been at two institutions that migrated to the new EBSCO UI now- in my experience, the turnaround time with updates to the new UI will depends on how involved the change is. If you're making customization/content changes on your end, sometimes edits made in EBSCOadmin or EEM take effect immediately. Other times, it might take a few hours for changes to show up. When it comes to changes to the UI that EBSCO has to make, it could take a while (see the dates on the spreadsheet Allison sent yesterday).

I recommend keeping the EBSCO UI roadmap<https://roadmap.ebsco.com/> on hand to see if the changes you want to see are on the horizon already, making sure you have access to the support portal on EBSCO Connect, and looking into getting added to the EDS Partners listserv Allison also mentioned. You'll have to reach out to your EBSCO rep to get added to that listserv.

Best,
Jamie

Subject: [External] [Eril-l] EBSCO New UI

Hi all,

Has anyone had experience migrating to the new EBSCO UI for their databases? Our switchover is scheduled for the end of this month and our subject specialists have raised a number of issues with the new platform. Does anyone have experience with how quickly updates are made to the new UI?

Thanks,

Denis
