to learn how you can comply with current and upcoming regulations and make
content more accessible to all.

Thursdays, 11:00 am–12:30 pm EDT (US/Canada)
April 3–May 22, 2025
This virtual training series will empower attendees with actionable
insights and practical guidance on accessibility compliance for
professionals in the information community. Attendees will come away with
an operational understanding of what it means to engage in accessible
publishing and methods to ensure their organizations are prepared to
achieve accessibility compliance. The course will cover upcoming regulatory
changes; accessibility standards and best practices; and human-centered web
design. From production to public relations, Accessibility Essentials will
be an invaluable resource for information practitioners, content or product
development experts, and scholarly communications professionals.
Event Sessions
Each session in the series will address a key question:
-
What is inclusive publishing, and why do we care about accessibility?
-
What are the legal ramifications for nonaccessible content, services,
and other programs?
-
How do we establish an inclusive publishing program?
-
How do we establish an inclusive design program?
-
How do we implement accessible web designs?
-
How do we implement inclusive content production?
-
How do we retrofit backlist titles and remediate existing products?
-
What is our inclusive publishing strategy going forward?
Recordings of each session will be made available to course registrants
within two business days of the close of the specific session.
