Hello!
We're super excited about this year's Access Lab<https://www.openathens.net/access-lab/> program and would love to meet you there<https://events.zoom.us/ev/ApQeTwzxngYnlwJt8wwh6WY1i6h91hOmlq9KUuzk75VCVX3_ucy8~Aku-ywyOrX9RVa6x2F7NvoGUiB1FPD6HyceX732rVvx3jQy5_g7yasJREC-8zg_8iLik_BXe8VzLxMLRgI6mN912Tw>! Our annual community event for librarians, publishers and researchers takes place next week, 24 - 27 February. As we celebrate 30 years of OpenAthens, we bring together industry leaders, innovators, and thought leaders for a truly insightful and engaging event.
This year's program will run across multiple time zones, ensuring as many of our global audience as possible can join us. And if English is not your first language, the Zoom Events platform supports a number of different languages<https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0062475>.
What you can expect from this year's program
We highlight just a few of the sessions you can look forward to!
Hylke Koers, chief information officer at STM Solution is this year's opening keynote speaker. His presentation 'The future of trust, access and identity in scholarly communications' draws on key findings from a recent STM draft report 'Trusted Identity in Academic Publishing<https://stm-assoc.org/new-stm-report-trusted-identity-in-academic-publishing/>'.
Scholarly Kitchen chef and university librarian at Brigham Young University, Rick Anderson, will discuss some of the challenges and strategies around misinformation, disinformation, and trust in scholarly communication.
Mark Seeley, executive chair of the Scholarly Networks Security Initiative outlines some of the key risks to researchers who access content on pirate websites and next steps for librarians and publishers to ensure research integrity.
Several sessions have a focus on artificial intelligence including a Web of Science use case for generative AI in research discovery and an AI literacy workshop for librarians.
You'll also get to hear case studies on how some of our customers have implemented our product and the wider impact it is having on their organization and wider community.
Join one of our discussion groups on topics ranging from artificial intelligence, library data analytics and user experience and accessibility to more practical discussions on getting the most out of using our products.
Our program has a strong focus on user experience. You'll hear from our UX designer Isobel Demangeat about our approach to applying UX processes in product development and the road ahead. Some of our vendors will also give lightning talks on how they've innovated to improve the user journey on their platforms. Finally, we'll close the conference with an announcement about this year's UX Award<https://www.openathens.net/publishers/ux-award/> winner.
