I think you’re right, Jen.

SilverChair has done a fair bit of work trying to prevent compromised sessions remaining open for ages. More publishers should take note of institutional EZproxy IP addresses maintained on the IPregistry.org (sign up if you have not done so). Recent “enhancements” by publishers now tip the balance away from subscribers towards securing the publishers’ assets, even if it could beviewed as a breach of contract by an institution.

Subject: [Eril-l] Cloudflare errors with EZProxy for numerous publisher sites

Hello,

We wanted to share that since Friday, we've started experiencing Cloudflare errors when using EZProxy for a number of platforms like Oxford and GeoScienceWorld. We're noticing that Silverchair seems to be a common denominator, but it's just a suspicion right now.

The error page occurs after authenticating, and the message is "Website is not accessible via this address." with a Ray Id and Cloudflare branding in the page footer. Our on-campus and VPN access is working fine. We're contacting publishers, but wanted to alert others in case your faculty aren't yet busily preparing for the fall and asking for help.

If others are experiencing this, it would be great to know it's not just us!
