[Eril-l] EBSCOhost new UI.

We migrated to the new EDS and EBSCOhost UI over the summer last year. I did not communicate anything to our users beforehand. I made sure that the other librarians were comfortable using the new interfaces before the fall semester began, but that's it. Our students and faculty don't search library resources as often as we think they do, so after a summer off no one noticed anything looked different. They could still search for things and filter the results with a clearly marked button, and that is all they were concerned with. We even had graduate classes that were held over the summer, and the students in those classes didn't struggle with the change in interfaces - our usage didn't drop, ILL requests didn't increase, and there were no frantic emails. I casually asked several instructors in the fall if the new interfaces had posed a challenge or were easy to use, and one hadn't even used them and the others didn't notice they were different.

It was an extremely seamless transition.

EXTERNAL Exercise Caution
Hi there!

We're planning to migrate to the new EBSCOhost UI over the summer and I'm trying to see what I would need to communicate out to our users before the semester ends and folks leave for the summer.

Links will redirect and personal accounts will use the same login.  I know that users with search alerts set up will have to recreate their search alerts on the new UI.  The migration of saved searches and custom folders should be coming out this month.

For those who have already migrated to the new EBSCOhost UI, did you encounter any issues with the migration and the new UI?
