Core Webinar: Elevate your writing with AI-powered assistants

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.



Description:

This presentation explores how librarians can use AI-powered writing
assistants to improve their professional writing. Attendees will learn how
to use these tools for various writing tasks, such as summarizing research,
brainstorming, and editing. The presentation will offer practical examples
of AI use in librarian writing and highlight both the benefits and
limitations of these new technologies. We’ll also discuss ethical
considerations surrounding AI use in professional writing, and consider how
to approach responsible and transparent integration of AI into the
librarian profession.


Learning outcomes:

During this webinar, attendees will:

   -

   learn how to use AI writing assistants for summarizing, interpreting,
   and extracting information from text;
   -

   gain insights into how AI writing assistants can be applied in various
   professional writing contexts; and
   -

   understand the ethical considerations for using AI in professional
   writing and be equipped to make informed decisions about its responsible
   application.


Who should attend?

Mostly academic librarians, but potentially any librarians who write or
publish in their work.


Presenter:

Jason Puckett is Online Learning Librarian and Associate Professor at
Georgia State University Library in Atlanta, Georgia. Puckett has an MLIS
from Florida State University and is the author of the ACRL books Modern
Pathfinders: Creating Better Research Guides and Zotero: A Guide for
Librarians, Researchers & Educators.
