**Apologies for cross posting**

NISO is pleased to announce that the preliminary program
<https://nisoplusbaltimore25.sched.com/> for the NISO Plus 2025 meeting in
Baltimore <https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2025-baltimore/> (February 10–12) is
now available! Join us for two days of interactive sessions addressing some
of the biggest issues and trends in scholarly communications:

   -

Research integrity is at the forefront of many of our minds as the
community works to combat growing levels of fraud and the rapid spread of
disinformation. At NISO Plus, speakers will explore how to better support
research integrity, including verifying researcher identity, communicating
retraction information to users, and the adoption of research stacks.
   -

User access, privacy, and cybersecurity are covered in sessions on
Seamless Access, upcoming browser changes, protecting patron privacy, and
maintaining the delicate balance between ensuring broad access and keeping
   systems and data secure.
   -

Open research and open access remain topics for discussion and debate in
sessions covering OA models (and how best to evaluate them) and user
metrics for OA content. The program also features sessions on open data
repositories and the global community’s need for more equitable OA models
   and structures.
   -

Artificial intelligence—its use and impact as well as related ethical
concerns—will also figure prominently in the NISO Plus Baltimore program.
Speakers will share highlights from a report on how generative AI
technology is currently used in higher education, explore best practices
for transparency in the use of AI, and provide case studies on using AI to
   enhance metadata and discoverability.
   -

In the tradition of NISO Plus, participants can also attend our NISO
standards updates, in which they’ll hear the latest from NISO committee
members on current projects like Open Access Business Processes and
   Accessibility Remediation Metadata.

Additional program highlights include an opening keynote from Cindy Hohl
<https://niso.plus/2024/11/cindy-hohl-to-give-opening-keynote-at-np25baltimore/>,
director of operations and policy analysis at the Kansas City Library and
president of the American Library Association, on “The Human Standard: Equal
Library Access for All.” Our annual awards luncheon will recognize
outstanding service to the information community and introduce participants
to the 2025 NISO Scholarship Awards cohort. Finally, the February 10
pre-conference program includes a pre-conference on AI tools and use cases
and a workshop on developing best practices and guidelines for assessing
the performance of OA eBooks. And for the first time, JATS-Con, the user
conference for the Journal Article Tag Suite standard, will also be held as
a full-day pre-conference.
