**Apologies for cross posting**

The early bird registration deadline for our 2024 NISO Plus Global/Online
<https://niso.plus/> conference (September 17–18) is just over one week
away! Sign up by Friday, August 9
<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/niso-plus-2024-globalonline-registration-888334421167?aff=oddtdtcreator>,
for the best rates to this interactive virtual meeting focused on bringing
people together and inspiring collaboration in the information community.

Here are just a few reasons to attend NISO Plus Global/Online:

   -

Our program <https://np24go.sched.com/> tackles the “big issues” and
challenges in scholarly communications: Topics we’ll address include AI
and emerging technologies, open research (including open access and open
data), PIDs and metadata, research integrity, and accessibility. As always,
we’ve also reserved time for updates on NISO standards projects as well as
an introduction to the standards process (new for 2024!).
   -

You’ll hear from a wide range of voices and perspectives: Participants
who attended our last NISO Plus virtual event praised the meeting for the
“variety of people attending” and “the breadth of topics and global
perspectives.” Speakers at NISO Plus Global/Online represent libraries,
publishers, service and scholarly infrastructure providers, government
agencies, and more. The virtual format also allows for greater
participation from countries outside North America, including The
Netherlands, Brazil, Australia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, to
   name just a few.
   -

You’ll brainstorm community-driven solutions with colleagues from across
the information community: Standards start with conversations, including
those we host at NISO Plus events! (In fact, our recently published CREC
Recommended Practice emerged from a conversation that took place at NISO
Plus 2021.) Each interactive session includes a presentation followed by a
group discussion focused on identifying potential solutions to the
challenges and issues introduced by the speakers.
