We're similar to Theresa/Dickinson, but currently mediating all our Kanopy requests; we are investigating and hoping soon to move to Kanopy SmartPDA. And of course we do our best to fulfill requests for video not licensed by major platforms. I too would be happy to email.

Hi Theresa,

I didn't see any other responses, though maybe you got some privately.  I'd be happy to share the approach we take to streaming requests.

We have a very small staff, and our system is working for us and has not blown our budget.   In general, for streaming we subscribe to AVON, Films on Demand, Docuseek Complete.  Plus we purchase discount "tokens" from Swank, use Kanopy SmartPDA, and have a process for faculty to request streaming for individual titles which we'll try to acquire from a variety of vendors.

It would be easier to share details by phone.  I'd be happy to schedule a time to talk (we are in Eastern time zone).  Email me off list if you'd like to do that.

Hi all,



I know this may be a bit off topic, but I am hoping that someone may be able to help. We are venturing into streaming media. We currently subscribe to AVON and Films on Demand but are looking to expand our options to faculty film requests. I am a bit worried about the costs and work involved with doing this. Does anyone have any suggestions or a streaming media workflow that they would be willing to share?
