K-State Libraries seeks an experienced, forward-looking, and collaborative technical services candidate to serve as Head of Acquisitions and Resource Management. The successful incumbent will oversee acquisitions, MARC and non-MARC metadata management, electronic resource management, and print and digital preservation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with either a wide variety of print & electronic acquisitions or cataloging & metadata practices or both. The head will collaborate with the Head of Content Development on workflows for a variety of purchasing models to acquire resources that support the mission of a land grant university, ensuring accuracy and interoperability between systems to maximize discovery and access. The head will work collaboratively to ensure cataloging workflows identify and remove systemic barriers to accessing underrepresented histories in bibliographic description and access points. Their efforts will advance convenient access to the range of information constituents need, regardless of information format, ownership, and delivery and will be based on a strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. They will also pursue professional development opportunities to keep abreast of acquisitions, e-resource, and metadata innovations and serve on department and Library-wide committees as required, particularly those involving acquisitions issues. The Richard L. D. and Marjorie J. Morse Department of Special Collections at Kansas State University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of University Records Manager. The University Records Manager serves as the university’s records officer and as an advisor to Libraries and university administration, departments, and offices in the development of K-State’s records and information management (RIM) program. Reporting to the University Archivist, the University Records Manager establishes RIM policies and procedures, including retention and disposition processes, communicates knowledge of RIM and archival theory and practice, and conveys complex records issues to diverse constituencies. The Records Manager will maintain a robust/effective and adaptive training program for university personnel and work closely with administrative and academic offices to ensure proper scheduling of records, perform surveys of records, and monitor compliance. Provides expertise in accepted standards and best practices of records administration, creation and maintenance of current university records in all formats, record lifecycle-based processes and workflows, and compliance with university policies and federal and state law regarding retention and disposition of active and inactive records. They will also Support the University Archivist to meet reference, outreach, and processing needs of university archives.

Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions and Resource Management Department, this position provides leadership and direction in the creation of metadata for the Libraries’ digital, virtual, and physical collections. The incumbent will collaborate closely with colleagues in the department as well as Special Collections, the Center for the Advancement of Digital Scholarship, and Library Information Technology to achieve access and discovery goals with a focus on digitization and non-MARC metadata projects.
