The Library & Information Technology Services at Belmont University is
accepting applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank
of Assistant Professor beginning June 1, 2023.
New library school graduates and experienced librarians from all types of
libraries are encouraged to apply. If you feel that you don’t meet the
preferred qualifications, don’t let a confidence gap stop you from
applying. Sometimes a list of preferred qualifications can miss the
elements that would most strengthen our team; we value the many different
skills which make all of us unique.
Job responsibilities include managing the lifecycle of electronic
resources, providing information and data/statistics used in the analysis
and evaluation of electronic resources, maintaining and troubleshooting
e-resource access issues, developing policies, promoting e-resources
through the creation of research guides and coordinating training. All
library faculty serve as liaison to one or more academic departments,
participate in departmental and university committee work, engage in
scholarly activity, and advise undeclared students in course selection. MLS
or progress toward a terminal degree is required; teaching experience
strongly preferred.
Flexible Work Arrangements available, including remote work up to three
days per week, compressed schedule, or flexible schedule. Must live within
driving distance of Belmont University's Nashville campus. Salary starts
at $55,000.
During the application process, applicants will be asked to attach a
response to Belmont University’s Mission, Vision, and Strategic Path to 2030
<https://www.belmont.edu/2030/index.html> articulating how the candidate’s
knowledge, experience, and beliefs have prepared him/her to contribute to
the Belmont community. Candidates will also be asked to give a brief
statement of teaching philosophy.
Bunch Library’s values begin with our belief that everyone deserves a
welcoming, inclusive, and equitable environment where they are treated with
respect and dignity. The Library extends its commitment to diversity and
equity in employment and especially welcomes applications from women,
persons of color, persons with disabilities, persons of minority sexual
orientation or gender identity, and others who contribute to
diversification.
For additional information about the position and to complete the online
application, candidates are directed to https://jobs.belmont.edu

An electronic version of a Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae, Teaching
Philosophy, and a Response to Belmont’s Mission, Vision, and Strategic Path
to 2030 <https://www.belmont.edu/2030/index.html> must be attached to
complete the online application.
Consistent with applicable civil rights law, the University seeks employees
of Christian faith who are committed to the mission of the University.
Belmont’s Office of Human Resources will conduct ongoing evaluations of the
means by which candidates for employment are sought, to the end that the
pool of candidates will include qualified women, minorities, veterans and
disabled individuals.
