eResources Discovery Librarian



Clemson Libraries seeks a dynamic, driven, and collaborative eResources Discovery Librarian to ensure access to and discoverability of academic resources for the Clemson University community. This position leads efforts related to the creation and improvement of metadata for electronic resources, including individual and package subscriptions, e-books, demand-driven acquisitions, open-access resources, streaming resources, and continuing resources. This is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position, and works under the direction of the Head of Metadata Services within the Collections and Discovery division. The minimum salary is $62,000 and is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.



This position will work closely with colleagues in the departments of Metadata Services and Acquisitions and Collections to ensure that Clemson University Libraries maintain an accurate and accessible inventory of its substantial collection of electronic resources, including work related to batch loads, data normalization, and other bibliographic maintenance needs. Clemson Libraries migrated to Alma/Primo VE in June 2020 and is part of a statewide Network Zone that includes 54 other institutions in the Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries (PASCAL) consortium.



The eResources Discovery Librarian will be responsible for creating and maintaining electronic collections, creating import profiles in Ex Libris Alma for large batches of records, performing quality control on eResource metadata, and developing innovative solutions to improve the discoverability of resources.



The successful candidate must have an ALA-accredited graduate degree in librarianship and 1 year of experience with electronic resources management in an academic library. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ex Libris Alma and Primo VE, cataloging and metadata experience, and knowledge of current descriptive and subject cataloging practices.
