Hello from Kanopy! I hope you are doing well.

Next week, we are hosting two free events for BRAINWASHED: Sex-Camera-Power<mailto:https://lib.kanopy.com/brainwashed/>, our newest documentary about the gendered lens and sexist shot design, co-acquired with Kino Lorber. All events open to all faculty, staff, students, and friends.


  1.  PRE-THEATRICAL PREVIEW: 10/18 – 10/20
For three days, Tuesday, October 18 to Thursday October 20, we will have a free preview of the film, open to Kanopy and non-Kanopy customers alike.
  2.  LIVE Q&A WITH THE DIRECTOR: 10/18 at 4pm PT
On Tuesday, 4pm PT, director Nina Menkes, will introduce BRAINWASHED, followed by a screening of the documentary on Kanopy. At 6pm, a live Q&A will give you access to speak directly with the main filmmakers.

Any film studies and humanities department. And particularly anyone interested in women's rights and the fight for women's equality in films and how they are perceived in film won’t want to miss this documentary.
