Roseman University of Health Sciences is looking for a Head of Electronic
Resources and Collection Development at our Henderson, NV campus.

*Job Summary*

The Head of Electronic Resources & Collection Development provides
leadership for the

library’s technical services which include electronic resource management,
cataloging,

interlibrary loan, and acquisitions. This position is critical to providing
access to materials

that support the curriculum and research needs of Roseman University.



*Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)*

•         Hire, train, and supervise the library’s technical services staff
who troubleshoot electronic resource access issues, maintain holdings and
catalog records, process library purchases, and provide interlibrary loan
services.

•         Manage and maintain access to electronic resources and online
tools, including preliminary research, acquisition, implementation, and
assessment; provide associated training as requested.

•         Facilitate review and negotiation of subscription agreements and
licenses; uphold licensing rights and obligations; serve as the contact
person for relevant vendors.

•         Provide recommendations and feedback on library resources
subscribed to in support of the academic programs; evaluate existing
collections for collection development decisions.

•         Oversee updates and communicate with library staff and university
community members about changes to the library collection.

•         Maintain knowledge of academic health science librarianship and
related fields through reading professional literature and attending funded
professional development activities.

•         Participate in campus and university committees, services and
activities as requested.

*Requirements*

•         ALA-accredited master’s degree or equivalent

•         Experience working with electronic resources throughout their
lifecycle

•         Experience with acquisitions and budget management

•         Management experience preferred

*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*

•         Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and library staff

•         Excellent written and oral communication skills

•         Flexibility and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

•         Demonstrated technical skills sufficient to perform the
requirements of the job

•         Working knowledge of current library systems and technologies

*Salary and Benefits*

Salary based on experience. There are multiple health insurance options;
including one that has medical, dental, and vision covered at 100% for the
employee. A 403B retirement account is offered with a 1:1.25 employer match
up to 7.5% of the employee’s salary. Leave time includes 22 days of
vacation per year, 12 days of sick time per year, and paid holidays.

The University also regularly approves a weeklong paid holiday in the
summer, three days at Thanksgiving, and two weeks for winter break. While
not an official benefit, this is voted on annually by the Board of Trustees
and has a long history of approval.
