We are seeking creative, collaborative, passionate, and innovative candidates to provide leadership in the area of metadata and cataloging.  Working in a highly collaborative, small-team environment, the candidate’s leadership responsibilities will intersect with many of the Library’s key strategic initiatives. The Metadata Initiatives Librarian will catalog materials, contribute to policy and procedure decisions, develop workflows, and seek creative approaches for metadata management. Responsibilities of the position evolve as the library environment continues to change as well as working with your expertise and allowing you to explore and grow into new areas of interest.



This position is part of the Collection Management Services section, working in coordination with the Head of Collection Management Services and reporting directly to the University Librarian.  As an academic faculty position, additional responsibilities include engagement in scholarship, involvement in professional development activities, and service to the institution and the library profession.



Mines is a public university with an enrollment of over 7,000 students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in engineering, applied science, and related disciplines. Mines is located in the heart of Golden, Colorado, a western suburb of Denver.  The campus location offers a small-town ambiance with close proximity to all that the Denver metropolitan area has to offer with an abundance of cultural events, museums, theaters, and sporting venues. An arid climate and an average of 300 days of sunshine per year make the area an ideal place to live, work, and play.
