Core webinar: Sustainable Thinking Builds Strong Libraries and Resilient
Communities

Date: Tuesday, March 15, 2022

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.

Description: Building upon the “Sustainable Thinking” keynote from last
year’s “The Exchange” conference, this panel discussion featuring leaders
from the Sustainable Libraries Initiative (SLI) will show the
organizational transformations that took place at different library
settings when their leaders focused on infusing sustainable thinking and
actions into all areas of library operations. Sustainable thinking can
prepare libraries for future disruption and help build organizational
resilience. Hear how the triple bottom line definition of sustainability
was the guiding factor for library leaders as they introduced this new
philosophy to their trustees, staff, and public.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this webinar, participants will:

   1.

Leave with knowledge and an understanding of the triple bottom line
   definition of sustainability and how it directly relates to libraries;
   2.

Learn how to build organizational buy-in for sustainable thinking and
   sustainable concepts in libraries; and
   3.

Understand how the new core value of sustainability opens doorways to
funding sources, community support, and new partnerships outside of library
   land

Who should attend?

Anyone with an interest in the topic can benefit from this session and is
welcome to participate.
