*Scholarly Communications Librarian*, Rosalind Franklin University of
Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Illinois

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Boxer Library & Information
Collaboration, the Scholarly Communications Librarian identifies, develops,
and promotes strategic programming, practices, and policies involving
scholarly communication which includes issues around open access,
copyright, fair use, authors’ rights, and the publishing process. Related
to supporting publishing and scholarship at the university, this position
will have an emphasis on supporting search strategy development and
education within evidence synthesis and implementation research produced by
RFUMS faculty as well as clinical/university partners. This includes
developing instruction and best practices around searching and retrieving
information for systematic review and scoping review projects. In
particular this position will support the RFUMS Center for
Interprofessional Evidence-Based Practice, an affiliate center for the
Joanna Briggs Institute in evidence synthesis and implementation projects.
In addition to supporting the areas listed above, this position will serve
as liaison to the newly launched College of Nursing. This position is a new
role within our library team, and is a full time, non-faculty staff
position.

*Starting salary allotted for this position: *57,000 - 60,000 per year

   - This is a hybrid position with a combination of onsite and remote work.

*Required Education & Experience:*

   - ALA Accredited masters degree.
   - Two years academic or clinical library experience.
   - Experience with expert searching techniques.

*Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*

   - Knowledge of scholarly communication issues, guidelines, and best
   practices.
   - Knowledge of best practices and issues surrounding systematic reviews.
   - Self motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work
   independently and in a collaborative environment.
   - Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
