NASIG is pleased to announce the beginning of the application cycle for its 2021 grants, awards and scholarships to be awarded at the 36th Annual Conference being held virtually this year, May 17-21, 2021.

Professional/Para-professional Awards

Birdie MacLennan Award

An award for a mid-career professional in information management, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting, one year’s free membership in NASIG and an invitation to serve on a NASIG committee the year following the award.

Equity and Inclusion Award (formerly the Diversity and Inclusion Award)

An award to a professional working in the information resources management field, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting, one year’s free membership in NASIG and an invitation to serve on a NASIG committee the year following the award.

First Timer Award

An award to a first time attendee, professional or paraprofessional, working in the information resources management field, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting and one year’s free membership in NASIG.

Horizon Award

Awards for promising new information management professionals, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting, one year’s free membership in NASIG and an invitation to serve on a NASIG committee the year following the award.

John Merriman Joint NASIG/UKSG Award

A joint venture allowing a member of each group to attend the conference of its sister organization, both of which are virtual this year. The recipient chosen by NASIG to attend the UKSG 2021 virtual conference also includes one year’s free membership in NASIG.

Paraprofessional Specialist Award

Awards for promising paraprofessionals, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting and one year’s free membership in NASIG.

Rose Robischon Scholarship

A scholarship awarded to an information management professional lacking funds for travel. The scholarship covers covering virtual conference registration for 2021 and registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting.

Student Awards

John Riddick Student Grant

Grant for a qualifying student to attend the NASIG annual conference, covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting and one year’s free membership in NASIG.

Fritz Schwartz Education Scholarship

A $3,000 scholarship for a graduate student demonstrating excellence in scholarship and the potential for accomplishments in a serials career. Also covering virtual conference registration for 2021, registration for a future on-site NASIG meeting and one year’s free membership in NASIG.

The application deadline for the awards listed above is March 28, 2021.
