The George Mason University<https://www2.gmu.edu/>, Resource Acquisition Unit is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person for the position of E-Resources Specialist. Responsibilities:


  *   Provides acquisition management and coordination of the library's resources, especially in electronic format.
  *   Manages the entire complex order and access cycles for these materials - from the request of a new e-resource through ensuring accurate, up-to-date access for faculty and students
  *   Maintains and updates a variety of databases, library systems, MARC record sets, and other applications used in e-resource management.
  *   Works closely with faculty and staff in Collection Strategy, Digital Technologies and Services, and the Subject Teams to ensure that all e-resources are acquired and made available in a timely and accurate manner.

Required Qualifications:


  *   Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent library experience which has provided the candidate with a basic understanding of academic library functions (3+ years preferred).
  *   Substantial (3+ years preferred) library/technical services experience in an academic library. Demonstrated experience with electronic resources, serials, or monograph acquisitions in an academic setting.
  *   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  *   Aptitude for accurate and detail-oriented work.
  *   Advanced organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment.
  *   Advanced effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to provide customer services in a diverse academic environment including library staff; Mason faculty, students and staff; and many external vendors.
  *   Strong and well-developed service orientation and understanding of functional work and its impact on other library units as well as the user community.

Preferred Qualifications:


  *   Demonstrated knowledge of integrated library systems discovery and access systems, bibliographic utilities, such as OCLC Connexion, and related systems and tools.
  *   Knowledge of electronic resources management issues.
  *   Demonstrated ability in processing multi-format collections and resources.
  *   Demonstrated ability to train and/or explain current slate of electronic resources.
