Date: Tuesday, February 9, 2021 *Rescheduled Date: Wednesday, May 19, 2021*
All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.
Description: How can we ensure our teams are successful, effective,
purposeful and resilient? How can we encourage trust and engagement in our
team interactions? In this session, participants will be asked to broadly
consider how they define teams within their libraries and will be
introduced to the factors that make teams successful, strong, effective and
resilient. Participants will learn how to support trust and vulnerability
among team members, communicate effectively and reach team consensus, and
recognize and celebrate team successes and failures.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this webinar, the attendees will be able to:

Identify the characteristics of successful teams.

Articulate the positive impacts of a strengths-focused approach to
managing teams and collaborations.

Apply communication, consensus and recognition strategies to support
effective team engagement
Who should attend?
This presentation is appropriate for librarians and information
professionals at all career stages. While especially applicable for those
leading teams, staff, projects, committees or other collaborations,
professionals at any level of responsibility can benefit from this material.
Presenter:
Jami Yazdani started her library career in circulation roles before earning
her MLIS, and has been a reference librarian, technology librarian, library
manager and library director. Over her career, she has effectively built
teams, managed change, and developed staff. Jami is a certified Project
Management Professional (PMP) with a proven track record of leading diverse
and collaborative project teams, and she excels at facilitating consensus
and keeping (even reluctant) teams on track. After more than 15 years in
libraries, she founded Yazdani Consulting and Facilitation to help leaders
at all levels solve management problems, achieve project success, and
amplify the strengths of their team.
