Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.



Description: Every good organization has a strategic plan. However, the
success of that plan is highly dependent on your organization’s culture. A
strong culture motivates employees to work harder, find ways past
obstacles, and treat each other with respect. Learn how the Palm Beach
County Library System is using these strategies towards the goal of being
the best place their employees ever worked.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

   -

   Define culture very specifically and understand how it shapes an
   organization's success
   -

   Identify the three direct and three indirect factors that determine
   people's motivation
   -

   Understand how a group of cultural firewatchers can build a dynamic
   culture
   -

   Use specific strategies to develop a thriving culture, with special
   awareness on equity, diversity, and inclusiveness

Who should attend?

This webinar is targeted for those in leadership and supervisory positions
in organizations of all sizes. However, anyone can apply the principles
shared in this webinar.

Presenter:

Doug Crane began his career with the Palm Beach County Library System as a
children’s librarian in 1998. He was appointed Library Director in 2014.
Doug is the author of the articles, “May I Ask You a Question? Lessons
Learned from Interviewing Public Library Leaders”; “Efficient Librarianship
– A New Path for the Profession” and “Go For It! Advice From Library
Directors” all published in Public Libraries magazine. He blogs at
www.efficientlibrarian.com.
