The National Agricultural Library (NAL) is recruiting a Budget Analyst (GS 9-11).  The position is open until October 2, 2019.

This position is located in the Administrative Office, Office of the Director, National Agricultural Library (NAL), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in Beltsville, MD.  The Administrative Office is responsible for coordinating, obtaining and providing an integrated administrative management program.

Major Duties:

  *   Monitors the execution of the National Agricultural Library's (NAL) approved operating budget to assure that funds are properly allocated and are being obligated and spent in a timely and effective manner in support of NAL management objectives.
  *   Reviews and approves or disapproves fund adjustments on the basis of anticipated program redirection or income from outside sources, e.g., inter-agency, reimbursable, and soft fund agreements.
  *   Identifies and analyzes trends in the receipts, obligations, or expenditures of funds to assure that objectives are being met and funds are being spent properly.
  *   Compiles data from past years records; verifies data against prescribed control totals; analyzes for reasonableness; and translates data into prescribed format
  *   Serves as liaison regarding status of funds, for the purpose of insuring the validity and accuracy of agency ledgers.

Occasional travel may be required.
