We are seeking an individual, who will lead NAL's Food, Nutrition and Food Safety programs. The incumbent is responsible for policy making, planning, directing and evaluating program requirements, activities, and functions of NAL's specialized information centers in food, nutrition, and food safety.
Major duties include but are not limited to:
* Identifies and translates strategic issues, concerns, trends, and policies into effective information programs and partnerships.
* Develops and implements strategies and management guidelines for complex and changing products and services.
* Leads in the development and implementation of new training and information programs, products and services critical to the researcher, practitioner, and consumer community.
* Coordinates the implementation of advanced IT solutions to optimize the provision of specialized Web-based information programs, products and services.
* Provides technical and administrative supervision to staff, ranging in grades from GS-9, 11, and 12.
* Represents NAL at meetings of professional library and scientific associations with a special emphasis on interpreting FNIC and FSRIO roles as leading information resources.
This is a GS-13 permanent appointment.
Occasional travel is expected.
