Boise State University's Albertsons Library seeks a Head of Scholarly
Communications and Data Management who will serve as a strong open access
advocate with a firm understanding of the practical challenges involved in
transforming traditional research dissemination systems. In this role you
will:

   - Provide leadership for and oversee the development of the Scholarly
   Communication and Data Management unit, including hiring, training, and
   supervising classified and faculty employees, overseeing the management of
   ScholarWorks, Boise State's institutional repository, and collaborating
   with other library employees to deliver data management and Open Education
   Resources (OER) services;
   - Create and promote the use of tools, resources, and services that
   facilitate research dissemination;
   - Collaborate with faculty, students, researchers, librarians, and other
   University personnel to advocate for open practices, including Open Access
   publishing, OER, and open data;
   - Monitor and report on trends, legal requirements, and best practices
   regarding scholarly communication, public access to research,
   copyright‐related scholarly publishing issues, and OERs;
   - "Work collectively on an ongoing basis to build and maintain a
   community that understands, celebrates, and values diversity, and expects
   and fosters inclusivity at all levels” (Statement of Diversity and

   );

Minimum Qualifications:

   - Master’s Degree from an American Library Association accredited
   program in library and information studies
   - Five years of progressive responsibility in an academic library
   setting including supervision of library employees
   - Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging issues in scholarly
   communications, data management, open educational resources, and
   institutional repository management practices
   - Demonstrated success in collaboration with faculty, researchers, and
   other University stakeholders, especially in the area of research
   dissemination

Preferred Qualifications:

   - Demonstrated interest, experience, and/or ability to promote cultural
   competency, diversity and/or inclusive excellence;
   - Experience consulting with researchers on copyright, author rights,
   and publishing practices;
   - Experience conducting scholarly research projects
