What Does Product Development Look Like? Insights from Vendors and Academic Librarians

Program Description

Librarians know how to evaluate and acquire products, whether databases, books, journals, digital archives, or software services. But how do vendors decide whether a new product is needed? What do product development processes look like? What exactly is a profit-loss statement? How can librarians influence vendor decisions to develop new products and improve existing ones? Attend this interactive panel discussion to learn from the horse's mouth how vendors decide on and develop products! This panel also features insights from academic librarians who work with vendors to influence development directions.
