[Eril-l] Adobe digital editions and ebsco

Beth - are your phone and tablet Android? That's what I'm having trouble with, but I confess I don't have access to an iPhone directly, so I don't know how wide-spread the problem is. I wondered somehow if the problems with BlueFire caused my problems with ADE, because the EBSCO tech support sent me a document on how to reauthorize as a solution to the problem I was seeing, but I've reauthorized already - and maybe that's the problem.

Which may explain why I cannot get downloaded books to appear in ADE on my phone or tablet. *sigh* Thanks Bob. I knew about Bluefire, but not about the others.

Hi Cindy, I received the foll msg from Ebsco a few hours after you posted.
"Important Notification About Bluefire and Adobe Mobile Apps"
"We are aware of a new issue impacting EBSCO eBooks downloaded on mobile devices where those downloaded e-books do not reliably open in Bluefire, Adobe Digital Editions or other Adobe-authorized mobile apps. Our development teams are actively investigating this issue, and we hope to have a resolution in place soon. In the meantime, we recommend reading EBSCO eBooks in our online viewer, which is fully mobile responsive and can be used on mobile phones and tablets just like it's used on desktop and laptop computers."
(Given that Ebsco considered it an "Important Notification", it's odd that they buried it at the bottom of an email with the entire subject line of "Knowing eBooks: New Fall 2019 Subject Sets".)

Hello. Are any of you getting an error message when trying to open a downloaded ebook from ebsco on an Android phone? The message I,m getting is e_adept_network. Downloads from proquest work fine. It seems to be regardless of whether I'm on campus (wireless) or not.
