We signed up with Swank last year in order to provide better access to a select number of feature films. Someone else mentioned Films on Demand, which we also subscribe to. All 3 collections are very different, and the pricing model for Swank is different from Kanopy in that we decide in advance how many films we want to add.
I agree with Karen that it’s wise to re-think the best use of funds. Our budget is under great pressure, and we’re doing everything we can to support teaching and student assignments, which means more streaming videos. Our demand for print books has dropped off, and our binding budget is at a bare minimum for the new fiscal year. We don’t buy DVDs unless there’s no other option.
