[Eril-l] Kanopy Streaming Videos - PDA program

A number of the libraries in the City University of New York have moved to a mediated request model. At my library at Brooklyn College, we now have a policy that we will fill requests from faculty for courses (after we check to be sure we do not have the film on DVD or that a legally uploaded copy is not available online). Since the three public library systems in New York City offer Kanopy as well, we are pointing patrons who have sent us Kanopy requests to this other option.

Subject: [Eril-l] Kanopy Streaming Videos - PDA program

Good Morning,

Since the beginning of the year our library has seen a significant increase in invoice totals for our subscription to Kanopy's PDA subscription. We are now being invoiced monthly, instead of quarterly (which it looks like were in 2017) and our totals for the monthly invoices are equaling the quarterly ones from last year. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed anything similar?

If so, has anyone made changes to their approaches in making these accessible? We currently have all subject categories available for our users to access - has anyone begun turning any of these off? If you have, how are you selecting which subjects are hidden and which you are leaving "on"?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help. :)
