Library collections today present a wide variety of challenges requiring

management, support for emerging formats, and diversity in collections,
librarians must be prepared to anticipate and respond to a number of issues

real-life examples of current challenges faced by librarians when building
and managing collections to meet the goals of the 21st Century library.
