[Eril-l] Procedures (and/or documentation) for matching e-journal entitlements lists against knowledge base coverage lists?

Like Athena, this whole thing is an enormous struggle locally. We are trying to do this in two KBs, one for SFX and one for WorldCat Local. Don’t even get me started on how very different these two KBs are…

One other point I’ll mention — and I, too, hope that those who manage or setup the data streams to/from publishers, and publishers themselves as well as other services, are listening — is that I frequently find discrepancies between what publishers themselves say we are entitled to vs. what our records say we are entitled to or what we have paid for. Sometimes the bad info. is at the publisher end and sometimes it’s at our end, but my point is that there is not a reliable, consistent approach across all of our entitlements.

Then too if you have moved in a big way into institutional pay-per-view like we have (directly with publishers, not through a third party service), the entitlements issue becomes that much more complex.

In commiseration,

Steve
