Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a Head of Digital Resources and Access Services.

The Head of Digital Resources and Access Services plans, develops, implements, and coordinates all aspects of digital/e-resource collections, institutional repositories, and projects.  These activities include acquisition, cataloging/metadata, access, teaching, vendor licenses, troubleshooting, and managing related statistics.  In addition, this librarian manages all aspects of circulation, and the acquisitions and cataloging/metadata activities of print and other materials.

Directly supervises two non-professional staff (Library Assistant for Circulation and Library Assistant for Acquisitions and Cataloging).

Additionally, this position will serve as a member of the library's management team; assist in assigned-subject area collection development; act as a resource for assigned departments; teach In the library's instruction program; provide general research assistance as needed; and participate fully as a member of the NWU faculty, including professional development and scholarship, and serving on committees.

An MLIS, MLS, or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited program is required.

Required experience, preferably in an academic or research library:

  *   at least two years of experience in cataloging/metadata (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  *   at least two years of experience coordinating digital resources
  *   at least one year of experience supervising staff
  *   strong familiarity with administering an integrated library system
  *   demonstrated commitment to patron service
  *   demonstrated experience in teaching or training
  *   demonstrated ability (or strong potential) to participate in faculty activities

Preferred experience:

  *   one or more years of experience with acquisition and/or circulation functions
  *   working familiarity with OCLC WMS; EZProxy; ContentDM; and SharedShelf or equivalent digital repository platform
