[Eril-l] migrate to new refworks?

We too are doing a soft migration and will start that when our trainer is here in July to go over the features. We’re a little different, our use of RefWorks is just for staff (we have no students). We’re thinking we’ll do the ‘soft launch’ for a few months and then check in with users to see if they are ready to fully migrate.
We also got to have the new Write N Cite go through our security review before we can implement it.

Hi,
We are also doing a "soft migration" and are having a rep give us a demonstration next week. We have also asked that the link to the New Refworks be bigger. I'm glad to hear we aren't the only ones! We were told that final migration would happen in January 2018, so there's quite a bit of time to run them both simultaneously before you will be forced to migrate.
I created a New Refworks account with my same email, but a different password, and I have been able to get into both the legacy and new versions that way.

Hi Amy:
We had our RefWorks representative visit us to demonstrate new Refworks and to review our migration options. This is what we learned:
You can do a soft migration, meaning you can leave classic RefWorks as is and then ask RefWorks to embed a link to new RefWorks. The new RefWorks link will display after the user logons to RefWorks. (BTW: I asked if the link can be more prominent here and on the login page.)

Or you can hard migrate, meaning you change the classic RefWorks URL (from where you have links to RefWorks) to the new RefWorks. All the users’ citations will migrate, but the users will need to create a new username/password.
RefWorks will keep classic RefWorks active for a bit, but at some point (TBD), everyone will be migrated to new RefWorks.
The librarians here meeting later to discuss how/when to migrate.
Best,
Lynda

Hi! Should I be migrating my institution to the new RefWorks this summer? Or waiting? I’m confused, and I asked my rep, but she wasn’t sure either. What are other people doing with RefWorks?
