[Eril-l] COUNTER4 report harvesting?

Hi Melissa,

Based on my reading of the SUSHI protocol (http://www.niso.org/apps/group_public/download.php/14217/Z39-93-2014_SUSHI-1_7.pdf ), it looks like all COUNTER reports can be included in SUSHI payloads.

7.1
Types of Reports
There are three types of reports that can be requested using the SUSHI protocol.
1) COUNTER Reports
SUSHI was originally conceived of as a method for delivering COUNTER reports. SUSHI is closely coupled, therefore, to developments at COUNTER. All COUNTER reports will be
listed in the registry (see Section 7.3).
2) SUSHI Registered Non-COUNTER Reports
The SUSHI protocol will support non-COUNTER reports that meet the requirements listed in Section 7.2. Registration for non-COUNTER reports will be voluntary, but is strongly
recommended for any reports that might cross over business partners. (See Section 7.3.)
3) Other Reports
SUSHI is designed to handle any report that is formatted in XML. Interested parties are encouraged to use the protocol for other purposes where it is appropriate.

If the data provider provides reports that your SUSHI client/harvester does not harvest, I think it is a shortcoming is with SUSHI client/harvester and not the standard.

Unfortunately, I don't, but I, too, am frustrated at the lack of a tool that harvests more than JR1. We are using Ex Libris' UStat, and while it accepts both JR1 and DB1 when loaded manually, the SUSHI harvester only does JR1. Incredibly frustrating.
If this is indeed a shortcoming of the SUSHI standard, I hope it's being addressed in the next update.

Hello, all.
I would like to find a service or tool that will harvest for us all available COUNTER4 reports from all of our compliant vendors. But so far I've the tools/services I know of, including Proquest's and EBSCO's as well as a couple of open source options, only get a few of the reports, most notably JR1 but missing the very important JR2 and JR5.
This might actually be a problem with the SUSHI standard being out of date - I'm a bit fuzzy on that.

Does anyone have a SUSHI or other solution for harvesting ALL of the COUNTER4 reports from your vendors aside from doing it manually?

Thanks!
