ALCTS Collection Management Section Midwinter Forum

Please join the ALCTS Collection Management Section for a panel discussion
on the following topic for its Midwinter Forum:

Re-organization, in broadest terms, is happening at virtually every
library these days. These re-organizations of staff, work flows, and
resources could be to prepare for a new library building, to cope with new
demands on library collections, or to introduce new needed services to our
library users. How do traditional skill sets apply to these new demands,
and what can we do to facilitate effective leadership in these
transitions?

CMS welcomes two panelists to discuss aspects of re-organization that they
have successfully participated in as leaders in their respective
libraries: Erin E. Boyd and Erica Findley.

Erin E. Boyd is the Technical Services Supervisor at the Irving Public
Library in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area where she is responsible for
overseeing all cataloging and processing. Previous to this position, she
worked as a cataloger in academic libraries. An active ALCTS member, Ms.
Boyd currently serves as Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors and
as the ALCTS Representative on the ALA Website Advisory Committee

Erica Findley is a passionate library supporter and is influential in the
broader library advocacy ecosystem. Ms. Findley is the Cataloging/Metadata
Librarian at Multnomah County Library (OR) and is a 2008 MLS graduate from
Emporia State University. She is an active member of the American Library
Association where she is an at-large member of their governing Council and
serves on the ALCTS Leadership Development Committee. Ms. Findley is a
co-convener of the ALA Think Tank and regularly hosts "pop-up libraries"
when traveling by train or plane. Ms. Findley can be found online at
www.ericafindley.com.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Collection Management Section
Executive Committee Member-at-Large Betsy Appleton. She is currently
Electronic and Continuing Resources Librarian for St. Edward's University
Munday Library.
