*Proposals sought for an ALCTS publication on digital preservation.
Proposal submission deadline: **February 28, 2017*

Many institutions have been creating digital files for several years and
are now looking for the best ways to preserve this data. The ALCTS
Monographs Editorial Board is requesting chapters for a publication
discussing all aspects of digital preservation in libraries, archives, and
museums. Chapters may cover current research as well as case studies that
can help other institutions find things that they can start doing with
digital preservation.

Potential chapters could cover, but are not limited to, the following
topics:

- Literature review on digital preservation
- Digital preservation policies
- Digital preservation best practices
- Digital preservation planning
- Creating digital objects for preservation
- Implementing digital preservation services
- Starting a digital preservation program
- Tools and infrastructure
- Digital preservation workflows
- Digital preservation initiatives and/or projects
- Implementing preservation metadata
- Local/state/regional/national collaboratives

Proposals should include:

- Author name(s)
- CV from each author
- Proposed chapter title
- A summary of the proposed chapter (300-500) words

Please submit proposals by *February 28, 2017* to Jeremy Myntti (
Jeremy.myntti at utah.edu) and Jessalyn Zoom (jiwu at loc.gov). Authors of
selected proposals will be notified by April 15, 2017. Full chapters are
expected by July 31, 2017 (3,000-5,000 words). Chapters should be unique
to this publication – no previously published or simultaneously submitted
materials.
