The Licensed Content Team of the California Digital Library (CDL) is seeking a Library Data and Services Analyst to join our expanding, dynamic team at one of the largest collection development and management program in the world, to support the education, research, and public service mission of the University of California in partnership with the ten campus University of California Libraries system.
As a Library Data and Services Analyst, you will collect, analyze, maintain and interpret usage statistics for CDL licensed resources, and apply knowledge of academic libraries and data analysis concepts to additional data collection and analysis projects in support of UC libraries' collection assessment and evaluation goals.  You will work with publishers, vendors and campus librarians to investigate, analyze, and resolve data and service problems, develop and maintain relevant online documentation for use by UC librarians and other users of CDL services, and provide related support to other CDL service units.

Job Requirements:

Required:

*         Bachelor's degree in related area, e.g. library science, statistics, and/or equivalent experience/training.

*         Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel to present, summarize, and manipulate data, including creating charts and graphs.

*         Knowledge and experience locating and interpreting library bibliographic information and library catalog records.

*         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

*         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer service orientation.

*         Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

*         Knowledge of and/or experience working in academic libraries.

Preferred:

*         2-3 years experience working with some combination of data analysis, bibliographic information, research libraries, electronic resource management systems, or usage data.

*         Advanced degree in library and information science, or a related discipline.

*         Experience with library electronic resource management (ERM) systems.

*         Knowledge of online library resource usage report standards, such as COUNTER.

*         Basic knowledge and experience with web-based content managements systems, e.g., Dreamweaver, WordPress or Drupal, to post and edit web content.

*         Experience with computer-based analysis and visualization tools.
